AO Kids Tennis Day

AO Kids tennis day

NetSports was proud to be part of the AO KIDS TENNIS DAY on 13 January 2024. It was a truly unforgettable experience! Thanks to our ties with Tennis Australia, NetSports was chosen to give a Hot Shots demonstration on Rod Laver Arena in front of thousands of spectators.

Coaches Ollie, Harry, Bradley and Chris were joined by 16 of our talented students to demonstrate Hot Shots drills and points play. The action continued when tennis pros including Coco Gauff, Alex de Minaur and Ajla Tomljanović took to the court to entertain everyone with games and trick shots. Awesome experience seeing professionals strike the ball just metres away!

Evie Chen, Masha Ivochkina, Noah Robinson, Helen Lyu, Emily Harrison, George Follet, Xavier Harrison, Ivaan Joshi, Chloe Paine, Edward Petherbridge, William Petherbridge, Chloe Georgopoulos, Selina Georgopoulos, Lucy Paine, Maya Willmott, Ian Nguyen.

We would like to thank all the parents and students who attended. It’s an absolute pleasure to coach your kids and share this special experience with them!

Hot Shots of the Term

hotshots of the term - will

Our young student of the term goes to one of our Orange stage students, Will Forsyth. Coach Chris nominated Will, saying:

“It’s a privilege to coach Will! I am extremely impressed by his attitude and determination. He gives 100% effort, he’s competitive in a respectful and friendly way, and listens to advice and works hard on his skills. Will is the youngest in the class, yet he leads by example.

He has been taking lessons from us since 2021 and shown tremendous commitment towards improving on a weekly basis. One of our star students!” Congrats Will, keep up the great work!

Adults of the Term

Adult of the term - Alok
Adult of the term - sindhu

Our adult of the term goes to tennis couple, Alok Joshi (Adult Improvers Level 2) & Sindhu Shankar (Adult Improvers Level 1).

Alok has been attending the adult group classes for a couple of years now. Not only has he improved massively but he has shown an excellent ability to take on feedback and implement it into his game. His major areas of improvement include backhand and the urgency to find his way into the net. He has also developed a much better understanding of serve placement and has shown the ability to identify and incorporate different spins into his game. His positive attitude and highly consistent attendance make him the perfect choice!

Sindhu’s consistent commitment to improvement and bright disposition are why she is our adult of the term. She always comes with a great attitude and her continued improvement is testament to her efforts on the court. She has been involved with our group lessons for a couple of years now and her punctuality is second to none.
