PROGRAMS & CLASSES

1.     Class Payments

Direct debit is our preferred payment method for all programs. Direct debit can be started by completing the Payrix authorisation form online. We run a fortnightly direct debit cycle where class fees are billed for the past fortnight. Please ensure you have sufficient funds in your nominated account as a failed payment fee will be levied if the direct debit is rejected. Payments will show on your bank account as payment from IPY*NetSports.

2.     Enrolments

To enrol into a new class or program, you can book online via our website or the NetSports app. Enrolled clients are automatically re-enrolled for the next term, on the same day and time unless otherwise advised. If you do not wish to continue with lessons in the following term, please refer to Point 4, Cancellation & Attendance.

In the booking portal, all participants are required to create their own Customer Account. You can change/update details such as contact number, postal address, email address, medical conditions, and bank details for direct debit.

3.     Private Lessons

If you are unable to attend a private lesson due to illness or other commitments, we ask for minimum of 48 hours' notice to cancel, which you can do by contacting us directly via email or phone. If you are unable to attend due to illness/injury, you might be asked to produce a copy of the medical certificate. Last minute cancellations and no-shows will be direct debited at full lesson cost. Some client cancellations may be charged at 50% of the lesson cost under special circumstances, at our discretion. With enough notice you can miss a maximum of 2 lessons during the term. Any further lesson missed must be due to illness/injury and provided a medical certificate is sent via email. Additionally, at the conclusion of each term, ongoing private lesson bookings automatically roll over to the next term, unless amended or cancelled. Enrolment may also not roll-over in cases of consistent no-shows or cancellations or lack of valid payment method. Roll-over is subject to the timetable and coach availability and therefore cannot be guaranteed.

4.     Cancellation & Attendance

a.     Junior Group Lessons (Hot Shots)

All students are enrolled for the full term and there are usually 10 sessions per term. Upon signing up, the student stays in the same class for the duration of the term unless changes need to be made. If the child cannot attend a session due to illness or injury, please email play@netsports.com.au to let us know the circumstances. If the reason is due to sickness or injury, you may be asked to provide a valid Doctor’s medical certificate to qualify for a credit for that lesson. Management will determine whether a credit for that lesson is warranted.

b.     Adult Group Classes

Programs including Cardio Tennis, Social Comps and Coach & Play are fun and sociable ways to enjoy the game of tennis. When booking one of these classes, you are enrolled into only one session at a time, and you must book each individual session separately to secure your spot each week. We cannot guarantee space for walk-ins. You can prepay or pay via direct debit.

Adult Improver group tennis classes follow the 4 school terms each year. Once enrolled, your spot is confirmed for the duration of the term (usually 10 weeks). Adult Improver classes are graded according to ability and experience, as follows:

  • Level 1 = Beginners

  • Level 2 = Intermediate players

  • Level 3 = Experienced players

c.      Washout & Heat Policy

We do everything possible to make the courts available for our programs. However, if the courts and weather conditions are deemed unplayable due to safety concerns, lessons will be cancelled. To find out if your lessons have been cancelled, we have a weather line which you can access by calling our main phone number: 1300 649 336.

DO NOT ASSUME THAT LESSONS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED. Please call us on the day within 1 hour of your scheduled lesson time to check if your class is cancelled or still going ahead. If our weather line does not mention cancellation, please assume your lesson is going ahead. If weather conditions significantly impact a lesson once a lesson has commenced, the following policy will apply: If less than 50% of the lesson has been conducted, a full credit will be issued, and if more than 50% of the lesson has been conducted, no credit will be issued.

As outlined in the Tennis Australia Heat Policy Guidelines, lessons may need to be cancelled or modified if temperatures reach 37 degrees Celsius. During periods of hot weather, coaches will give students regular drink and shade breaks. During summer, all clients are required to be sun smart; ensure you are wearing 30+ sunscreen, wear a cap or visor and bring a water bottle.

For clients who have paid upfront for the whole term, if a class is cancelled due to weather conditions, a credit will be placed onto your account and no charge will apply for that session. For those on direct debit, you will not incur a charge for the lesson.

d.     Public Holidays

All group coaching sessions will not be offered on public holidays and no fees will be charged for that day. Private lessons may still be available on public holidays subject to coach availability.

e.     Contract Cancellations

NetSports reserves the right to cancel or amend any customer contract or booking at their discretion. Written notice is required to cancel a direct debit contract providing a minimum notice period of 14 days. To cancel a direct debit payment, please email play@netsports.com.au. We do not accept verbal cancellations.

5.     Junior Progression and Ball Colour

Student progression, class quality, and enjoyment are all key priorities for us. Our coaching team continuously monitor the progress of individual students and will recommend when a student is ready to move up in level/ball colour. We aim to work with students and parents collaboratively and ask that all parents trust that our coaches know what’s best for their child. We are always happy to talk to parents about their child’s tennis journey and we will advise when we think it’s the right time for a student to move up to a new level. Factors like age and height alone do not determine which class is right for them. We look at a range of things including motor skills (hand-eye coordination), behaviour in class, interest in tennis and readiness.

6.     Duty of Care & Child Safety

We take our obligation to ensure the safety and well-being of all patrons very seriously. To provide for the safety of all our members and patrons we regularly undertake maintenance and inspections of the courts to ensure they are in a safe and playable condition. We expect parents to maintain supervision of their children when they are at our venues when not under a coach’s direct supervision. All students under the age of 10 years old must have their parent or guardian accessible and available during their classes.

7.     Code of Conduct

We aspire to create a positive environment for our tennis clients, members, and staff members. As such, we ask all clients to embrace the following values:

  • Respect for people regardless of their age, ability, gender, religion, or background.

  • Concern for the health and safety of other players, coaches, staff, and visitors.

  • Being a positive role model.

  • Treating people with respect and kindness.

NetSports has the right to refuse entry or request a person to leave any of our venues, if the person is:

  • Abusive, uses offensive language, or displays threatening behaviour.

  • Under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

Membership payments will be automatically reactivated once the suspension period and/or the 10 weeks maximum period has ended.

If a member needs to suspend their membership due to medical reasons, as long as we receive a doctor’s certificate, this period of suspension will not count within the 10 weeks maximum period. Members will not be authorised to suspend accounts if they have an outstanding balance. During suspension, members will not be able to access any program or court hire at members discounted rates.
