Why do you love coaching?

I love teaching and sharing what I’m passionate about and there’s nothing quite like seeing a beginner light up when they start grasping a new skill. Seeing joy and personal satisfaction in their eyes is extremely rewarding.

Why do you love playing tennis?

I love the feeling of hitting a tennis ball, working on my game, and being competitive. It’s kind of ‘Zen’ for me because to play well you must be present, focused, committed and passionate about what you’re doing.

Your favourite tennis player and why?

I love Pete Sampras and Roger Federer, but more recently Rafa Nadal has had a big impact on me because of his incredible fighting spirit and ferocious playing style!

Your favourite shot to coach and why?

I love coaching the one-handed backhand drive because it’s a bit of a lost art and probably the most beautiful looking shot in tennis.

Your favourite shot to play and why?

It would probably be an unreturnable serve out-wide, either to the deuce court (with slice) or to the ad court (hard and flat).
