TENNIS COACHING:

How do I enrol for coaching?

Complete attached enrolment form and email to info@netsports.com.au We will then set you up so you have online access to all our coaching programs.

What age can my child start tennis lessons?

At Stonnington Tennis Centre’s, children can first start taking lessons from 3 years of age in our introductory Blue Tennis Hot Shots program. These lessons are kept to a maximum of 30 minutes.

How do you work out the most suitable group for my child?

Each child has a different rate of progression based on motivation and concentration. Because of this we offer a range of suitable programs for all ages. All new pupils are encouraged to participate in our free grading sessions so our tennis coaches can determine which grade is most suitable. You can book online for these grading sessions.

What does my child need to wear?

We recommend you wear comfortable sporting clothes, runners, a hat and always bring a water bottle with you and in summer all children must be wearing sunscreen.

Do they need their own racquet?

No, we do have loan racquets of all sizes available at the office to borrow. We do recommend
however that you bring your own racquet to each lesson and it is important that you have the right size racquet when playing. Our coaches can help advise you on the correct size racquet and you do have the option of purchasing your own racquet at our venues too.

Where are lessons held?

In 2020, all our coaching lessons are held at Malvern Tennis Centre located at 43 Union Street,
Armadale.

Do I need to re-enrol each term?

Current clients enrolled into Stonnington Tennis Lessons are automatically re-enrolled for the following term, on the same day and time (unless advised). If you do not wish to continue with lessons, please let us know as soon as possible.

What happens if I miss a private lesson or if there is rain on the day of my lesson?

If you know you are going to miss a private lesson, we ask you to give us a minimum 24 hours’ notice and you will therefore be issued a credit. If lessons are cancelled due to rain you will also receive a credit. Please review our policies to learn more.

Do you offer makeup lessons?

No makeup classes will be given at Stonnington Tennis Centre’s for any group coaching session. Instead a credit will be placed on your account for the following debit cycle. Credits will only be offered if you have provided a valid medical certificate which prevents yourself or child from attending. Please review our policies to learn more.

How is payment made?

Payments can be made via a fortnightly direct debit which are debited in arrears of lessons. All direct debit clients receive 10% discount off the coaching fees.

Washout and Heat Policy?

At Stonnington Tennis we do everything possible to make the courts available for coaching.
However, if courts and/or conditions are deemed unplayable due to safety concerns, lessons will be cancelled. To find out if lessons have been cancelled, we have set up a wet weather line. Call (1300) 649-336 and follow the prompts. It is up to the parents to call to see if classes are running. If you call the weather line and it has not been updated, please assume lesson are on.

As outlined by Tennis Australia Heat Policy Guidelines, lessons will be cancelled if temperatures reach 37C. During periods of hot weather coaches will take regular drink breaks, keep students in the shade where possible. During summer, all clients are required to be sun smart; ensure you are wearing 30+ sunscreen, wear a cap or visor and must have a water bottle.

If lessons are cancelled due to weather a credit will be placed onto your account.
